I am new here, and I think I understand the conventions, but if I misstep I apologize and thank you for your gentle corrections :)

So in the spirit of Halloween and with a nod to those popular sparkly ones -
I am thinking of a word that rhymes with VAMPIRE

Is it an edible plant that grows in coastal areas?

I must say though I can't imagine how to play this game without the internets - I've learned quite a bit about biology already (thanks klarusu and justjim) ... ooo now that I think about it, I hope it's ok to research? Besides I'm in library school and it's helping me hone my skills...
